Muhammad said:
qaala muhammadun:

"Who provides for you, humanity, from sky and earth? Who
hears all and sees all? Who brings about the living from the dead, and the dead from the living? Who causes the execution of all affairs?

[To those who answer "God".]

"Then why do you not protect yourselves? This is God, your rightful lord! Your true lord! And what is there besides what is right and real, except error? So how is it that you are so averse?! Are there among your peers or those you make equal to God any who guides unto all that is right and real? God guides to all that is right and real. So then isn't it more appropriate that one who guides in this way be followed? Or is it more fitting that one who does not guide without being guided himself be followed? What is with you then, humanity? How are you making your judgements and decisions?"

"Whoever will walk along a wrongly directed path, let the Most-Merciful increase his misguidance until he sees what he is promised, be it punishment or that final hour. Then he will see who is worse off and weaker in forces. However, God will augment those on a rightly directed path.

"Come, I will rehearse what God has prohibited and made sacred:
1. Don't make anything equal to Him.
2. Act in exellence with your birth parents
3. Don't kill your children on a plea of want.
4. Don't commit shameful deeds, openly or in secret,
5. Only take life, which God has made sacred, in justice.
This is how God commands you. Maybe you'll use sense and logic.
6. Do not approach an orphan's property, except to improve it, until he/she attains the age of maturity.
7. Measure and weigh justly.
8. Whenever you speak, speak justly, even if close friends or relatives are concerned.
9. Fulfill the covenant of God.
This is how God commands you. Maybe you'll take heed.
10. Don't follow those means & paths that would separate you from God's path.
This is how God commands you. Hopefully, you'll protect youselves."

" For the righteous are gardens with their lord, with rivers flowing
beneath. In these they'll find their eternal home, with pure companions and the good pleasure of God. God watches over those that are devout to Him. These say: "Our lord, we have indeed believed and we have been faithful. So forgive us of our sins, and save us from the agony of the Fire." They show patience, firmness and self-control. They are true, they are devout. They give and they are askers of forgiveness in the early morning."

"I have submitted my whole self to God and so has whoever follows me. To those with Law and those wihout it, will you submit yourselves? People with Law, do you disapprove of us for no other reason than that we believe in God and the revelation that has come to us, in front of us? Perhaps it is that most of you are rebels and incorrigible?"

"We will believe in and be faithful to God through the revelation given to us, to Abraham, Ismael, Isaac, Jacob & the tribes, including what was given to Moses, Jesus and all the prophets, from their Lord. We do not view them as being at odds. We surrender and submit to and for God. "

"To God belong both the east and the west. He guides whom He will to a way that is upstanding. There is no virtue in being decietful with your words. Be considerate of God and be straight forward. Protect yoursleves from God so that you may be prosperous. "

"Any good thing that you give let it be for your parents, close family or friends, orphans, those in need or for the traveler or the homeless; giving from what you do not need. Whatever good you do God knows it well."

"Torment and torture are more grave than murder."

"As it concerns enebriation and gambling, in them is great error and sin, as well as a possible profit for people. But the error and sin is greater than the profit."

"As it concerns orphans, the best thing to do is what is for their good. If you mix their affairs with yours, they are your brothers. God knows the person who means mischief from the person who means good. If God wishes He could put you into difficulties. He is indeed greatly powerful and wise. "

"God! Lord of Power, You give power as you please, and you strip power as you please. You endue with honor as you please, and you humiliate as you please. In your hand is all good. In reality, you have control over all things."

"Whether you hide what is in your hearts or reveal it, God knows it all. He discerns all on high and on earth. God has power over all things. If you love God, follow me. God will love you and forgive you your sins for God is forgiving, merciful. "

" People with Law and Scripture, let's come to common terms that we will not be devout to anything without taking God into account, that we will not take any as an equal with Him, and that we will not make lords of authority or superiors among ourselves in disregard to God. God speaks the truth. Follow the religion of Abraham, the rightly inclined. He took nothing as an equal with God."

"Shall I not take God as a lord of authority and a superior, when He is the initiator of all on high as well as on earth. He feeds but is not fed. Shall I not seek God as a judge? He is the one who has sent to you scripture and law, fully detailed. I am commanded to fully submit. Moroever, I fear the retribution of an aweful day if I were to disobey my lord. God is a witness between me and you that this compilation has been inspired to me, to warn you and whoever it may reach with it. Do you bear witness that despite God  there are to be other gods? I bear no such witness! Verily, He is a lone god, and I disown your equating. I do not say to you that I possess the treasures of God. Nor do I know the future. Nor will I say to you that I am an angel. I'm simply following what is revealed to me. Is the blind the same as the seer? Do you not reflect? I am restricted from devoutly serving what you devoutly serve in disregard to God. I will not  follow your wants and desires for fear that I'll go astray and will not be guided. I have an exposition from my lord but you would reject it."

"Judgment belongs with God alone. He narrates the truth, and He is the best judge. God knows best who the wicked are. I don't ask you for any reward. This is but a message for all people. "

"I have no power to benefit myself or harm myself except what
God would will. If I knew the future, I would have increased my wealth, and no harm would have come my way. I am no more than a warner and a bearer of good news for those who will believe and be faitful. I simply follow what is revealed to me from my Lord. These words before you are enlightenments from your Lord. They are a guidance and a mercy for people who will believe and be faithful."

"I, alone, do not control any harm or benefit except what God would will for me. For each community and nation there is a term, and when it comes they cannot have it delayed any. Moroever, they cannot have it quickened for them. Have you considered, humanity, that were God's punishment to come as a night-raid or by daylight, what it truly is that the guilty hasten on?
So whenever it befalls you, would you then believe in it? "Now?! But you were asking it to be brought on." Then, it will be said to those who had been unjust, "Taste of everlasting punishment! Are you not being punished for all that you have earned?" Yes, by my lord it is true. And you, humanity, cannot frustrate it. And were it that each person that had been unjust had all that is in the land! When they see the punishment, they would ransom it. Remorse will hide within them. But God will rule and judge between them in justice and they will not be done wrong. Yes, to God belongs all on high and on land! And God's promise is a fact! But most of humanity do not discern. He gives life and he gives death and to
Him you are all returning. Humanity, an admonition has come to you from your lord, a healing for what is in the minds and the hearts, the soul and the intellect; a guidance and a mercy to those faithful to it. Humanity should rejoice in God's grace, and in His mercy. This, in God's eyes, is better than all the things that people collect, gather and hoard. Have you, humanity, thought on some of the provision that he has sent down for you? You would make some restricted and others lawful. But has God given you permission or do you lie on Him? What will those who lie on God think on the day of the uprising? Certainly, God has a certain grace upon humanity but most are not appreciative."

"I have my works, and you have your works. You are innocent of anything I do, and I am innocent of anything you do. I am no more than a human like yourselves, being inspired that your god is to be one god. If all humankind and spiritkind banded together in order to produce a reading like this, they could never produce anything like it, no matter how much help they gave each other. Moreover, if the ocean were ink for the words of my lord, the ocean would run out before the words of my lord would run out, even if we were to double the ink supply."

"Those who hope to meet their lord are to work righteousness, and never devoutly serve any god other than their lord. Implore whatever icons, figures or idols you have honored, besides Him! They have no power to relieve your afflictions, nor can they prevent them."

The above were direct quotations from the Quran where Muhammad is told in the singular command form to say. I mixed and matched different passages but none of the above is fabricated. The goal is to give the reader an idea of the message Muhammad preached and mainly to read the Quran. This is where God's guidance resides.

Page creator's note: These excerpts for me arouse questions about the conquests of Muhammad's followers. In light of the above and other passages of the Quran  I really do not believe that they were motivated by Muhammad. Unfortunately most knowledge about Muhammad and his followers is concluded upon by prefering the Hadeeths (See article on Hadeeth) over the Qur'an for a historical records. However, this is erroneous, because the Qur'an is more historical than the Hadeeths, concerning the period of Muhammad, and takes precedence in that respect. The Qur'an has been ignored in this aspect when it should be preferred for historical analaysis.
