The Bible says that his name means 'father of many' and the Quran calls him the father of God's loyalists. In father we know that he is not our biological father but we know from the Koran that it is because of him that our creed is 'Submission to the Most High.' It is his submission to God that has impacted the world the most, as he taught his children and they theirs, to the point that we now have many religions who claim him as their forefather. The Koran implies that we keep to the tradition of considering him the forefather of our creed and so we openly say that we practice the religion of Abraham, who was not a Jew, a Christian or a Muslim. He was submissive to God and that is what progod.org is all about, submission to God, the Most High.
The Bible says in Luke 19:9-10: "Jesus said to him (Zacchaeus), 'Today salvation has come to this house because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. For the son of Man came to seek and to save what is lost.' "
So we even have it from the Gospel, the actual teachings of Jesus, that the children of Abraham will gain salvation, and that Jesus considered himself a child of Abraham also. Not those who believed in his crucifixion on the cross or those who believe in him as part of the trinity. Jesus said that the sons of Abraham will also attain salvation. ProGod.org and the Quranists who support this organization consider anyone who is pro-God and whose creed is 'submission to and for God' to be a child of Abraham, part of his religious clan, tribe and family.
The Koran says that it was divinely revealed to the messengers in 23:52-53, "Truly this, your community, is to be one, indivisble community . . But people have belittled this command. They belong to separate factions, and each party rejoices in that which it alone has. "
As far as calling ourselves things that have nothing to do with our submission to God and our keeping to the religion of Abraham the Quran is very clear on this issue which can be seen through the following verses:
6:159
"Muhammad, as for those who divide their religion and break up into sects, you have no part in them in the least. Their affair is with God. He will inform them of the truth of all that they did."
6:161
"Muhammad, say: 'Truly, my lord, my superior has guided me to a way that is upstanding. It is an established and upright custom and culture; the religion of Abraham, one rightly inclined while he had no one around him of like mind.' "
"Who would be more excellent in his ways than someone who is submissive to God, acting in excellence, and following the religion of Abraham, one rightly inclined? God made Abraham near & dear to Himself."
3:95
"Muhammad, say: 'God is true. Follow the religion of Abraham. He was rightly inclined while he had no one around him of like mind.' "
22:78
"Strive for God as He deserves to be strived for. He has chosen you, and has imposed no difficulty on you concerning custom. Follow the religion of your forefather and founder, Abraham! He has mentioned you, being the submissive ones earlier in this (compilation). Let the messenger and the message testify for you, and you testify for humanity! Keep to prayer, compliments, dignified speech, oratory, discipline & blessings, being promotions of good and well-being. Do what is best, vindicating and virtuous. Hold onto God. He is your support; the best of support and the best to help!"
2:135
But they will say, "Become Jews or Christians to be guided." Muhammad, say, "No. The religion of Abraham! He was rightly inclined while he had no one around him of like mind."
The religion of Abraham is not Islam, Christianity or Juidaism. None of these names in their true meanings means "submission to and for God," which is being Pro-God and not making anything equal to Him. Muhammad united under God's message (the Quran) and the religious family of Abraham. Would you turn away from the religion of Abraham?
2:130
"Those who will turn away from the religion of Abraham will only make fools of themselves. We have distinguished him in the earthly realm. In the very end he will surely be in the company of the righteous, the correct."
